Course Selection

It is that time of year where students will be choosing their courses for the 2026-27 school year!  Below is the timeline of all the important dates:

  • October 28:  Course selection Parent Night at GRHS from 6-8 PM for 8th-11th grade families
  • November 4: District Course Carnival at Terry High School 6-8 PM
  • November 17-20: 9th-11th graders choose their classes in Skyward
  • November 19: GR Counselors will be available during all lunches right outside the cafeteria to answer any questions students have
  • December 1-January 16: All students will meet one on one with their counselor to go over courses for next year and counselors will answer all questions students have.

Distance Learning Course Information

If you plan to take a course outside of LCISD (including summer or year-round courses), you must complete the required form before enrolling. Submit the form to your counselor in room 2327 or email it to them. 

Distance Learning Approval Form

Important Guidelines for Out-of-District Courses:

  • Only courses from Texas Tech University K12, University of Texas K12, or Texas Virtual School Network (TxVSN) are approved.
  • No online courses that require STAAR End of Course exams (Algebra I, Biology, English I & II, U.S. History).
  • Students can earn up to two (2) credits for original online courses (not for credit recovery).
  • One online course at a time, unless approved by the principal.
  • Approval is needed for out-of-district courses after completing 8th grade.
  • All prerequisites and grade level requirements apply.
