A Message From our Principal, Mrs. Yanta

Howdy, Longhorn Family!

One Proud Principal!

I have to say it—I am one proud principal! The way this school year has started has been incredible. From the school spirit you’ve shown during our themed dress-up days to the incredible support at events after school, you are showing what makes George Ranch High School so special.

I am equally proud of what I’ve observed in our classrooms. Our teachers are challenging students, setting high expectations, and pushing them to grow—and our students are rising to the expectation of excellence! Seeing our Longhorns embrace the challenge and give their best is exactly what 1% better every day is all about.

GRHS is known for its strong culture and incredible sense of community, and that legacy was established when The Ranch opened in 2010. It takes all of us—students, families, staff, and community—to continue building on that legacy and making GRHS the special place it is.

Enjoy the 3-day weekend, Longhorns! And don’t forget to join us for Open House on Tuesday, September 8, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the LGI. We’ll kick things off with a quick Meet & Greet with me, and then you’ll get to experience your student’s school day! I can’t wait to see you there!

Longhorn Families, Open House is Tuesday, September 8! 🐂

Come experience a little bit of your student’s school day! You’ll follow their schedule, meet their teachers, counselors, and administrators, and learn what they’re learning this year. You’ll also get important information about grading and reporting, expectations, resources, and—most importantly—how we can partner together to help your Longhorn have a GReat year!

Before you arrive, take a picture or bring a printed copy of your student’s schedule that includes the teacher’s name and room number. Challenge yourself to make it to every class on time—just like we expect from our students! 😉Get lost? No worries! Look for a staff member wearing a GRHS jersey—we’ll help point you in the right direction and get you to class!

Beginning-of-Year Forms Due Now!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

For the 2026-27 school year, all required Lamar Consolidated ISD beginning-of-year forms must be completed online through the Skyward Family Access Center. Online forms are available through the Family Access Center and all forms need to be submitted no later than Sept. 11th. Instructions, important dates, a username/password reset button, and technical assistance regarding the online forms can be found by clicking here. For those who need access to a computer or the Internet, computers will be available on campus Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. If you have any questions or need additional assistance, please contact the school front office.
