A Message From our Principal, Mrs. Yanta

Howdy, Longhorn Family!

School spirit and excellence were on full display, from our Pink Out dress-up day raising awareness for breast cancer, to our AP Field of Dreams event celebrating scholars who earned a 4 or 5 on their AP exams last May, to our Theatre students’ outstanding performance of the musical 9 to 5. There was so much to see, celebrate, and be proud of!

Did you know that last May, our Longhorns earned 242 scores of 5 and 404 scores of 4 on Advanced Placement (AP) exams? These scores can translate into valuable college credit! Even more exciting, George Ranch High School has the largest AP and Dual Credit programs in LCISD! We are incredibly proud of our students for challenging themselves and pursuing excellence, and we are equally proud of our dedicated teachers who work tirelessly to prepare our Longhorns for success through rigorous coursework and exams. Their commitment, expertise, and support help open doors to future opportunities for our students.

Speaking of AP, the deadline to register for this school year's AP exams is Friday, October 30! Additionally, families are invited to join us for 2027–2028 Course Selection Night on Tuesday, October 27, at 5:00 p.m. to learn more about advanced coursework opportunities and the wide variety of courses offered at GRHS.

Looking ahead, this coming week marks the final week of the second six weeks, with grades due Friday. Longhorns, take care of your academic responsibilities, stay focused, and finish the six weeks strong!

Thank you for continuing to support our students and our school community. Together, we are building a culture where school spirit, high expectations, and excellence go hand in hand.

OHOH! 1% Better Every Day!
